The y intercept is obtrained from the original equation. Let x = 0

y = (0)^2 + 30(0) + 382

y = 382 when x = 0

y_intercept = (0,382)

Take out 3/5 from the first 2 terms.

5/3 * 30 = 50

The 382 goes outside the brackets.

y = 3/5(x^2 + 50x) + 382 Take 1/2 of 50 and indicate it is squared.

y = 3/5(x^2 + 50x + 25^2) + 382 Multiply 3/5 * 25^2 and subtract after the 382

y = 3/5(x^2 + 50x + 25^2) + 382 - (3/5)625 Make the square and combine

y = 3/5(x + 25)^2 + 382 - 375

y = 3/5(x + 25)^2 + 7

Vertex (-25,7) ; y_intercept 382
