Please help

Interesting patterns can arise when you play around with numbers. A fairly easy one occurs when you add a number to one less and one more than the number. Do this for a few numbers, x, and record the results. Then, prove a general pattern by writing an expression for the sum of a number with a number one less than it and a number one more than

Table answer:

x,one less,one more,sum

15,14,16,45

28,27,29,84

69,68,70,207

100,99,101,300

Equation:

x+(x-1)+(x+1)=3x

Step-by-step explanation:

The one that you added compensates for the one that you subtracted, making the equation really x+x+x.
