Thesis:
Social mobility is known as the movement of individuals, families, and other people in general within or between the society. Systems such as the Caste in India, in which people are categorized into certain groups depending on their origins, where they live, what they know, create a mindset on them, since the main culture on each division, promotes certain activities within its members that influence the way the think and their social practices in general, making it possible to limit the movement opportunities for them.
Support:
1. Social systems are intended for people to identify with one way of thinking and doing things. Some think that social systems strenghten the society, by bringing order.
2. Whoever does not behave according to what the social system states, may be consider as "not adjusted".
3. Non-adjustment to a social system may actually increase the possibilities of social mobility for individuals.
Connect to Another Era or Concept:
A social system might break a larger population down into family groups, races, religious affiliations, gender, wealth categories and other social classes. There are many social systems in our time, as well. These may respond to the human need of affiliation, but may also limit the opportunities for people to grow in capabilities and life opportunities.
