Indian Removal Act (during 1830s) was signed because the Government wanted the Native American cultivated lands that were next to the borders in exchange for lands in the west of Mississippi, but not all tribes agreed with that, and many resisted to relocation policy. For example, Cherokee and Florida Indians. This process of massive relocation (and indian suffering) is known as Trail of Tears.
