When solving 2n – 5 = 8n + 7 do you subtract 2 from 8 or 8 from 2

2n-5= 8n+7

+5 +5

2n= 8n+12

/2 /2 /2

n= 4n+6

2(4n+6)-5= 8(4n+6)+7

8n+7= 32n+55

-7 -7

8n= 32n+48

/8 /8 /8

n= 4n+6


This problem has NO SOLUTION!
