this is true with any number of 5 or above

Here are numbers below

9x4 = 36 36-9 = 27

9x3 = 27 27-9 18

9x2 = 18 18-9 = 9

9x1 = 9 9-9=0

This proves that the number must be five or above. This doesn't work with 4.9999999999...9999, just 5 as a whole number or above

let "a number" = x; at least = ≥

9x - 9 ≥ 36

Isolate the x. Do the opposite of PEMDAS.

First, add 9 to both sides

9x - 9 (+9) ≥ 36 (+9)

9x ≥ 45

Divide 9 from both sides to isolate the x.

(9x)/9 ≥ (45)/9

x ≥ 45/9

x ≥ 5

x ≥ 5 is your answer
