Lexi purchased
1(1)/(2) pounds of green apples and
(3)/(4) pounds of red ones. In total, she purchased

1(1)/(2)+(3)/(4)=(3)/(2)+(3)/(4)=(3\cdot 2+3)/(4)=(9)/(4) pounds of apples.

If apples cost $1.08 per pound, then the total cost is

\$1.08\cdot (9)/(4)=\$(108)/(100)\cdot (9)/(4)=\$(54)/(50)\cdot (9)/(4)=\$(27\cdot 9)/(50\cdot 2)=\$(243)/(100)=\$2.43.

Answer: $2.43
