He thought of them as animals, creatures living on an unknown, new island, that soon would belong to Spain, so he would use them as slaves and poverty. For that was not their Island. His discovery.

does the best I could tell you but I believe that Christopher Columbus though that they were just slaves and thought of nothing else like they didn't have feelings or something
