The vertex of the parabola
y=ax^2+bx+c has the coordinates:

  • x_v=-(b)/(2a);

  • y_v=ax_v^2+bx_v+c.

Therfore, the vertex of the parabola
y=x^2+6x+2 has coordinates

x_v=-(6)/(2)=-3

and

y_v=(-3)^2+6\cdot (-3)+2=9-18+2=-7.

Answer: (-3,-7)
