Using the identity tan(θ) = sinθ / cosθ :-

cos (-θ) . tanθ = cos(-θ) . sinθ / cosθ

Now. cos(-θ) = cosθ

- so we see that the right side of the identity simplifies to sinθ which completes the proof.
