Andrea is selling candles as a fundraiser. She spent $50 on supplies for the making of 85 candles, which she plans to sell for $10 each. The function of her revenue can be modeled by c(x) = 10x-50. Define c(x) and x.

X would just be defined as 85 or the # of candles Andrea sells. I think c(x) would be the same thing.

Answer:

c(x) is the revenue function

x is the number of candles

Explanation:

Given : Andrea is selling candles as a fundraiser. She spent $50 on supplies for the making of 85 candles, which she plans to sell for $10 each. The function of her revenue can be modeled by
c(x) = 10x-50.

To find : Define c(x) and x ?

Solution :

The function of her revenue can be modeled by
c(x) = 10x-50.

Here, c(x) is the revenue function

Revenue is the total amount earned by firm.

R(x)=(price per unit) (number of units produced or sold)

and x is the number of candles.

According to question,

We have given x=85,

The revenue of 85 candles is given by,

c(85) = 10(85)-50

c(85) =850-50=800

The revenue of 85 candles is $800.
