How do I solve (5x-7)(3x-8)?

(5x-7)(3x-8)

Expand using FOIL (multiply the firsts, then outers, then inners, then lasts):

Firsts: 5x * 3x = 15x²

Outers: 5x * -8 = -40x

Inners: -7 * 3x = -21x

Lasts: -7 * -8 = 56

Combine them all together:

15x² - 40x - 21x + 56

15x^2 - 61x + 56
