The polygon shown is a pentagon, a five-sided polygon.

There is a formula to find the sum of the measures of the interior angles of any polygon.

S = (n - 2)180

S = sum of the measures of the interior angles

n = number of sides

This is a pentagon, so it has 5 sides. n = 5

We can find the sum, S, of the measures of the angles of any pentagon.

S = (n - 2)180

S = (5 - 2)180

S = 3(180)

S = 540

The sum of the measures of the interior angles of a pentagon is 540 deg.

Now we add all the measures that are shown and subtract from the sum of the measures. That will give us the measure x.

104 + 117 + 100 + 124 = 445

540 - 445 = 95

x = 95

x = 95°

the polygon has 5 sides so you do n - 2 which is (number of sides - 2) this gives us 3. now multiply 3 times 180, this gives us 540. now add up all the sides that you know, 104, 117, 100, 124, this is 445 now subract 445 from 540 and that is what gives us 95°
