The image below shows a jar containing four different liquids, each a different color. The liquids do not mix, so the colors remain separate. Which of the following statements are true? Check all that apply.

A. Blue is more dense than clear.
B. Because it fell to the bottom, red is the most dense.
C. Clear is the most dense.
D. Clear is more dense than yellow, but less dense than red or blue.

Answer:

Density is a characteristic property of a substance or material and is defined as the relationship between the mass and volume of a specific substance or material.

Each liquid has its own density, and according to this the liquid will float or fall to the bottom.

If two liquids of different densities are poured in a container, the liquid with lower density will float and the liquid with more density will fall to the bottom.

In other words, liquids with low density will float over the liquid with more density

In the bottle of this experiment the red liquid is the most dense and falls to the bottom, then the liquids with lower density will float on it, being the yellow liquid the less dense.

Therefore, the true statements here are A, B an D.
