The Battle of Goliad was an important event that took place in 1835 during the Texan Revolution. The Texan Army claimed victory in this battle and it was very significant since “It provided the Texans with valuable supplies and strategic stronghold.” After the battle ended, the Texan army confiscated everything they found in the fort such as provisions, muskets, and clothing. Apart from those provisions, they also found great amount of food in the fort such as sugar, coffee, flour and whiskey that served as food supplies for the Texan army for the following months. The victory of the Battle of Goliad by the Texans also meant a strategic point to defend Texan army from a possible Mexican attack.
