to find te inverse of a function

step 1: replace f(x) with y

step 2: replace all x with y an all y with x

step 3: solve for y

step4: replace y with new function name

f(x)=2x-10

step1: replace f(x) with y

y=2x-10

step 2: switch x and y

x=2y-10

step 3: solve for y

x=2y-10

x+10=2y

y=(x+10)/(2)

y=(1)/(2)x+5

step 4: replace y with new uction name

h(x)=(1)/(2)x+5

none of the options because of the 1/2 missing

Let f(x) = y i.e. 2x-10= y

Thus we have 2x=y+10

x= y/2 +5 thus inverse of f(x) = h(x) = x/2 +5
