PLEASE HELP I KNOW THIS ISN'T MATH BUT I FEEL LIKE MATH GETS MORE NOTICED

The steps in the heating of water in a pot kept on a stove are listed below: Step 1: Heat from the flame travels to the base of the pot Step 2: Heat from the base of the pot travels to the water near its base Step 3: Heat from the water near the base of the pot travels to the upper layers of water

In which steps is heat transferred by conduction?

Step 3
Step 1 and Step 3
Step 1 and Step 2
Step 1, Step 2, and Step 3

The answer is that heat is transferred by conduction through steps 1, 2, and 3. Conduction is the transfer of heat through a substance that is a different temperature without movement of the material. The heat transfers to the bottom of the pot in step one, the heat from the bottom of the pot to the base water in step two and the heat from the water in step 2 rises to the top of the water in step three. All steps include conduction.
