Revise each statement to make it true.

An object’s potential energy is set; it cannot change.
Kinetic energy depends only on an object’s speed and velocity.
Energy can be destroyed.

The potential object of a body is dependent on the height of the body above the ground considering that the weight of a person is constant then as the object stays in the same place the GPE is constant on falling it changes as it is being converted to KE
Yes it does if the mass is already known
No it cannot it can only be transferred from one form to another

Answer: Kinetic energy depends only on an object’s speed and velocity is true.

Step-by-step explanation:

Potential energy is defined as the energy acquired by an object due to its position. Also, potential energy is dependent on the height of an object as follows.

P. E = mgh

So, when height of an object changes there will also occur a change in change in potential energy of the object.

Kinetic energy is defined as the energy acquired by an object due to its motion.

Mathematically, K.E =
(1)/(2)mv^(2)

More is the speed or velocity of an object more will be it's kinetic energy.

According to law of energy, energy can neither be created nor it can be destroyed but it can be transferred from one form to another.

Therefore, we can conclude that kinetic energy depends only on an object’s speed and velocity is true.
