Use the distributive property: multiply the number outside of the parentheses by BOTH numbers inside. 2 × x and 2×1 so first part is 2x+2 second part: 5 × 2x and 5×-3 is 10x-15 so 2x+2+5x-15= 7x-13

You multiply 2(x+1) which is 2x+2.

Then you multiply 5(2x-3) which is 10x-15

Finally, you add 2x+2 and 10x-15, and you get 12x-13

The answer is 12x - 13

Hope this helps!
