Airplanes use 150,000 liters of fuel during a 10 hour long flight. An airplane took off with 24,090 kilograms of fuel in its tank.

If 1 liter of jet fuel weighs 0.803 kilograms, which of these conclusions is correct about the airplane?

It will run out of fuel after 1 hour.
It will run out of fuel after 2 hours.
It has enough fuel to run for 3 hours.

Answer:

Option B, It will run out of fuel after 2 hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given -

For a
10 hour flight , amount of fuel used
= 150000

1 liter of fuel
= 0.803 Kg

So,
24,090 kg of fuels in liters

= (24,090)/(0.803) \\= 30,000 liters

150000 liter of fuel lasts for
10 hours

1 liter of fuel lasts for
(10)/(150000) hours

and
30000 liter of fuel lasts for

(10)/(150000) * 30000\\= 2

Thus, option B is correct
