3x +4 is 7x and 4x- 1 is 3x because yhat how you solve that

In the given triangle, Two sides are divided into equal part.

It means D and E is mid point of AB and AC.

Mid-point theorem: The line joining the mid points of sides of a triangle then line (DE) parallel to BC and DE is half of BC.

In the given figure, (Attachment)

DE = 3x+4

BC = 4x-1


DE=(1)/(2)BC [mid-point theorem]


3x+4=(1)/(2)(4x-1)


2(3x+4)=4x-1


6x+8=4x-1


6x-4x=-9


2x=-9


x=-4.5

Hence, The value of x is -4.5
