double the radius, volumes increases 8 times, or 800%

with a scale factor

length becomes scale factor * length

area becomes scale factor^2 * area

volume becomes scale factor ^3 * volume

if the diameter is doubled the scale factor is 2

Volume becomes 2^3 * volume

the volume increases by a factor of 8
