slope = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

m =(-1-5)/(-3-4)

m =(-6)/(-7)

m=6/7

point slope form

y-y1 = m(x-x1)

y-5 = (6/7) (x-4)

The slope-point form:


y-y_1=m(x-x_1)\\\\m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

We have two points (4, 5) and (-3, -1). Substitute:


m=(-1-5)/(-3-4)=(-6)/(-7)=(6)/(7)

For point (4, 5):


y-5=(6)/(7)(x-4)

For point (-3, -1):


y-(-1)=(6)/(7)(x-(-3))\\\\y+1=(6)/(7)(x+3)
