3 pounds for $15.50 is the better deal.
HOW?
find a common multiplier (12)
4 pounds ($21.50) [×3] 12 pounds ($64.50)
3 pounds ($15.50) [×4] 12 pounds ($ 62)

Answer:

Explanation:

Two options are there for lunch meat.

$21.50 for 4 pounds and $15.10 for 3 pounds.

We will calculate the unit rate to find which one is better deal.

∵ price of 4 pounds of lunch meat = $21.50

∴ Price of 1 pound of lunch meat =
(21.50)/(4)

= $5.375 ≈ $5.38/pound

∵ cost of 4 pound of lunch meat = $15.10

∴ cost of 1 pound of lunch meat =
(15.10)/(3)

= $5.03/pound

Therefore, second option gives better deal, of $5.03 per pounds of lunch meat.
