We can usually get a couple of facts for these that let us rule out answers without working out all the details.

The green and red areas are below a CUP parabola, opening up. CUP stands for concave up positive, and tells us there's a positive coefficient on x². Unfortunately all the choices have a positive 1 coefficient, no help here.

Since the areas are below they're going to be y ≤ x² + other stuff. That rules out B and C.

The red and blue parts are below the line, and the line has a positive slope. So that's y ≤ mx + b where m>0 is the positive slope. That rules out D with the negative slope.


Answer: A
