first use the second equation 2y+12=x and soly for y,
solving for y gives you y=-6+1/2 x. now substitute what we got for y just now which was -6+1/2 x in for y for the first equation. which should give 2x+3(-6+1/2 x)=-11.
now distribute the 3 and solve for x. once you get x. take the value of x and plug it in either equations and solve for y. hope this help.
