The treaties are considered as a key factor of the development of what Canada is nowadays. The First Nations people see the treaties as a way to cover for its peoples' needs and a way of understanding between them and the rest of citizens of Canda. On the other hand, these agreements paved the way for the geographical expansion of the Canadian government and in the subsequent years, made it possible for the government to extract the resources located in the territories inhabited by the people of The First Nations.
The Pass System was developed by the government as a way to prevent the movement of indigenous people. This definitely restricted these people to have access to many of the benefits that Canadian society offered. This included access to health services and education. The effects a treaty like this has in the long-term are all related to discouraging the union between all the citizens of Canada as a whole.
