Given : if x belongs to the interval -2 ≤ x < -1, then f(x) = -2

As x = -2 belongs to the interval -2 ≤ x < -1 ⇒ f(-2) = -2

As x = -1.5 belongs to the interval -2 ≤ x < -1 ⇒ f(-1.5) = -2

Given : if x belongs to the interval 1 ≤ x < 2, then f(x) = 1

As x = 1 belongs to the interval 1 ≤ x < 2 ⇒ f(1) = 1
