Remember to follow PEMDAS. Isolate the x.

First, distribute 5 to all terms within the parenthesis

5(2x - 3) = 10x - 15

10x - 15 - 6x < 9

Simplify. Combine like terms

10x - 6x - 15 < 9

4x - 15 < 9

Isolate the x. Add 15 to both sides

4x - 15 (+15) < 9 (+15)

4x < 9 + 15

4x < 24

Finally, to isolate the variable (x) completely, divide 4 from both sides

(4x)/4 < (24)/4

x < 24/4

x < 6

x's answer can be anything less than 6.
