HELPPP plz A 24.0 kg brick is pushed across the floor with a force of 590 N. There is sliding friction. The acceleration of the brick is 7.04 m/s/s. Calculate the sliding friction force.

Okay first raise your equation of Newton's second law:

∑Fx = ma;

Then visualize in a free body diagram what forces are acting in the body.

In this case, the force of 590N and the sliding friction force.

F -
F_(friction) = ma

And just clear the friction force from the equation.


F_(friction) = F - ma

Finally you substitute your values

590N - (24Kg)(7.04m/s^2) =
F_(friction)


F_(friction) = 421.04N
