Answer: x-6

Reasoning: 2(3x+7)=-22

First distribute 2 in the the (3x+7) (3(2)+7(2))

6x+14=-22

Now subtract 14 from both sides(14-14 and -22-14)

6x=-36

now divide both sides by 6 (6x/6 and -36/6)

x=-6

2(3x + 7) = - 22 \\ 6x +14 = - 22 \\ 6x = - 22 - 14 \\ 6x = - 36 \\ x = ( - 36)/(6 ) \\ x = - 6
