The Joint Commission is a nonprofit tax-exempt organization which is based in United States and responsible for accrediting hospitals and evaluating their quality of patient care.

Most of US state governments require accreditation from Joint Commission to get licensure for the receipt of Medicaid and Medicare reimbursements.

All the member from different health care organizations follow the three-year accreditation cycle and survey is done every two years. The join Commission provide it's decision,standards for improvement and the date that accreditation was awarded.
