A primary election is better than a party caucus for selecting candidates because there is a higher voter participation rate compared to a party caucus.

The way a decision is made through a primary election is also more democratic in nature compared to party caucuses.

Compared to party caucuses for selecting candidates, primary elections are much easier; members of the party arrive, cast a vote and then leave. Long discussions don’t happen as in a party caucus election.
