Which reason did many amercains have for coming to teaxs in the 1820s

Texas was part of Mexico at this time. Texas also was sparsely populated and Mexico wanted settlers to come and protect the area from Native Americans. Mexico citizens did not want to settle there, so the Mexican government invited Americans to settle and offered a tax exemption for a period of ten years.
