less" simply means "-" minus. subtract. for example 6 less 3 is 6-3 which is equal to 3
where as
less than means this number is of lower value than that of the other number. for example 3 is less than 6

Less or less than means to subtract in math
mathematics. Example would be Bob and 100 apples but Emily has 15 apples
less than Bob, how many apples in total?
Which weighs less 1 oz of sugar or 1 lbs of sugar.
