The basketball is spherical in shape and it's approximate volume (V) can be calculated using the formula

V =
(4)/(3)πr³ ( where r is the radius )

here the diameter = 9 ⇒ r =
(9)/(2) = 4.5

V =
(4)/(3)π × 4.5³

=
(4)/(3)π × 91.125 = 381.7 ≈ 382 in³
