The answer is 2 minutes and 20 seconds.

Here is how its done..

The distance to be covered by the runner is
(7)/(8) miles.

The speed of the runner is
(3)/(8) miles per min.

To find the time it took for the runner to finish the race, you can use this formula:

Distance ÷ Speed = Time.

Time Taken:
(7)/(8) ÷
(3)/(8)

Time:
(7)/(8) *
(8)/(3) =
(7)/(3)

Time = 2.33 minutes = 2+(.33x60) [ 1 minute = 60 seconds]

Time = 2 minutes 20 seconds.

I hope this helped you.

Have an amazing day!~
