Neha used 4 banana and 5 oranges I her fruit salad. Daniel used 7 bananas and 9 oranges. Did Neha and Daniel use the same ratio of bananas to oranges? I’d not, who used the greater ratio of banana to oranges

Neha ratio is 4:5
Daniel's ratio is 7:9
So, Daniel has the greater ratio.

Answer: Neha used he greater ratio

Explanation:

This is how I did it and how my classmates got this answer:

First you have to turn Neha and Daniels bananas and oranges into ratios (4:5, 7:9). You can do this part using a chart. This is how we did it:

4-4,8,12,16,20,24,28,32,36

5-5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45

4 x 9 and 5 x 9 get you 36/45=36:45

7-7,14,21,28,35

9-9,18,27,36,45

=35/45

Now that they both have the same denominator you compare: 36:45 (?) 35:45

36:45 > 35:45

Neha has the greater ratio. :)
