The volume of air mattress is = 1.127 L

calculation

The volume of air is calculated using the ideal gas equation

that is Pv=nRT where,

P(pressure)= 3.5 kilopascals convert into Atm

1 atm =0.00987 KPa

?atm = 3.5 Kpa

= (3.5 kpa x 1 atm) / 0.00987 kpa =354.6 atm

V(volume) = ?

n( no of moles) = 16.5 moles

R (gas constant)= 0.0821 L.atm/mol.K

T(Temperature) = 295 K

make V the subject of the formula V=nRT/P

V= ( 16.5 moles x 0.0821 atm/mol.K x 295 k) /354.6 atm =1.127 L
