And she also bought two loaves of sugar, a bottle for perfume-spraying, a lump of male incense, aloe wood, ambergris, and musk, with candles of Alexandria wax ...

Based on the context in which it appears, what does the word ambergris most likely mean in this excerpt from The 1001 Nights?

a type of drug
a type of pastry
a type of clothing
a type of fragrance

Ambergris is a wax like substance so I would think it’d be a type of candle, but I suppose either C or D

Hope this helps you a little

Answer:

a type of fragrance.

Step-by-step explanation:

Ambergris is a very strange substance of a solid, waxy, and grey nature that is produced in the digestive system of sperm whales. When first produced it is said to have a fecal and marine odor; however, it eventually acquires a sweet and earth-like odor that for a long time was very valued by perfumers as a substance that made their scents last longer.
