I'm pretty sure I'm already late but the first box will be 9 and the second will be √9. I took the test so I know this is right so yeah! Good luck on the test! Sorry for responding so late :(

ANSWER:

(√9)^2 = 9 in simplest form.

By the Power of the Power rule, (9^1/2)^2=9^2/2 .

So 9^1/2 must equal √9 in radical form.
