B. Competition led people to migrate in search of new jobs.

Is the most correct answer here because with the new colony came new opportunties. The provinces received influxes of eager, hard working immigrants looking for new jobs and opportuntities. The Southern colonies in particular used slave labour to grow their plantations and expand their businesses and interests. With the creation of the ‘new world’ there was free or cheap land and an abundance of natural wealth to be discovered by opportunists.
