6y-8x=14(1)
Y=x+5(2)

6y-8x=14(3) ×1
Y-x=5(4)×6
6y-8x=14
6y-6x=30

-2x=16
X=8

Put x into equation 1
6y-8x=14
6y-8(8)=14
6y-64=14
6y=14+64
6y=78
6y=78
Y=13

6y-8x=14
Replace y with y=x+5
6(x+5) - 8x= 14
Simplify
6x+30-8x=14
Add common factors
-2x+30=14
Subtract 30 from both side
-2x= -16
Divide both sides by -2
x=8
Now solve for y by replacing x with 8
y=8+5
y=13
Solution to the system of equations is (8,13)
