a. Write a function, f of x, to represent the relationship between x, the dollar amount the math club raises, and the total amount of money they will have for the field trip.



b. Evaluate f of one hundred fifty.

.5x is the amount the principal donates

f(x) is the amount of money for the field trip

we can simplify this to

f(x) = 1.5x by combining like terms

using the original equation

f(150) = 150 + .5(150)

using the simplified equation

f(150) = 1.5(150)
