Given:

Line segment labelled y is the midsegment of the triangle.

To find:

The measures of x, y and z.

Solution:

Since line segment labelled y is the midsegment of the triangle. So, it divides the included sides in two equal parts.

Line segment labelled y is bisector of both included sides.

x=21 units

z=2* 16

z=32 units

According to the midsegments theorem, the length of the midsegment is half of third side or non included side of the triangle.

y=(14)/(2)

y=7 units

Therefore,
x=21\text{ units},y=7\text{ units},z=32\text{ units}.
