First, convert 3 feet to inches.

3 feet = 36 inches

Then divide 36 inches by 3/4 inches.

(36 inches) / (3/4 inches) =

36 x (4/3) =

4 x 12 = 48

You're able to fit 48 books on the shelf.

3ft = 3ft*12 in/1ft = 36 inches

36 inches divided by 3/4 inch
