Eggs can be packaged 12 (1 dozen) to a carton while English muffins are generally sold in packages of 8. How many of each would you buy to make egg muffin sandwiches (1 egg per muffin) so that you would use the same number of eggs and muffins with no extra eggs or muffins left over. Explain how you solved the problem.

This is an LCM (least common multiple) problem

First list the common multiples:

12: 12,24,36,48,60

8: 8,16,24,32,40

You see that in both lists, there is the number 24

12x2 = 24. 2 dozen eggs
8x3 = 24. 3 packages of muffins
