The given curve is → x²=y, which is a parabola opening upwards and vertex at (0,0).

When it is reflected in x axis ,the curve becomes→ x²=-y

The graph of two curves are shown.

Now the curve ,x²= -y is scaled vertically by a factor of 1/8.

So, the equation of curve becomes ,→ x²= -y × 1/8

→ x² = -y/8

Plotting the graph of →x² = -y/8

The curve will shrink, as scaling is less than 1.
