I need help in this question right now.....

4.5 + π is
a. rational because it is a terminating decimal.
b. irrational because it is a repeating decimal.
c. irrational because it is a non-terminating and non-repeating decimal.
d. rational because it is a non-terminating and non-repeating decimal.

Answer: (c) irrational because it is a non-terminating and non-repeating decimal.

Explanation: Because of the number π which is irrational, the expression 4.5 + π is also irrational. Irrational numbers are ones that cannot be expressed as a ratio of integers. As such they have non-terminating decimal expansion with no pattern in the decimal digits (incl. no repetition)
