Assuming that this triangle is a right-angled triangle (this question does not state this crucial fact meaning that this question can not be answered) we can use Pythagorus theorem to solve this.

a squared plus b squared = c squared

15 squared plus 8 squared = x squared

225 plus 64 = x squared

289 = x squared

The square root of 289 is equal to 17

Therefore x = 17

15^2 + 8^2 = 14400
Then the square root of that is 120 so x = 120
